About Us
Animals cared for in foster homes instead of shelters are much more socialized and typically given more individual attention.  These animals also learn how to interact in a family/home setting.

The Society provides for two types of fostering: Permanent and Temporary.

To be eligible to become a foster home for VZCHS, we require that you sign a foster agreement which indicates you will

  • Provide attention and care to the animal(s)
  • Have a safe area for the animal to stay
  • Bring the animal to the adoption clinics at least twice each month
  • Commit to caring for the animal until its adoption

For Permanent fosters, VZCHS will provide food, medicine, doghouse, carrier and a permanent pen  When you can no longer provide foster care, all material will be removed.

Temporary fostering is available if you find an animal dumped on your property.  In this case, all the same stipulations will apply, VZCHS will provide food, medicine, doghouse, carrier, and a temporary pen will be constructed for your use, if needed.

Please contact us if you would like additional information.
