Van Zandt Co Humane Society is a 'no kill' organization.

Each dog over 10 months of age has been heartworm tested and is administered monthly heartworm prevention.

All pets in our care are up to date on vaccinations. State law requires any animal adopted from a shelter or rescue group be altered at time of adoption or when reaching 4 months of age. If not altered at the time of adoption, a female will need to be spayed when she reaches 6 months and a male when he reaches 8 months. If not altered at the time of adoption, a free spay/neuter certificate will be offered at one of our participating clinics.

The society recommends that all animals be altered at 4 months of age!

The adoption fee for any dog or puppy is $60.00. Special rates may apply if adopting more than one animal.
