Van Zandt County Humane Society is a 'no kill' organization.

Each dog over 10 months of age has been heartworm tested and is administered monthly heartworm prevention.

All pets in our care are up to date on vaccinations and, if over 4 months old, have been spayed or neutered. If not altered at the time of adoption, a free spay/neuter certificate will be offered at one of our participating clinics.

The Gifted Animal Placement (GAP) program is being utilized by the VZCHS. This program is the first step in determining a dog's qualifications for drug, bomb or human detection, therapy and other human assistance needs, and other valuable traits. During the next few months, each of our animals will be tested by a GAP-certified specialist.
Any animal with this symbol ☻has been GAP tested.

The adoption fee for any dog or puppy is $55.00. Special rates may apply if adopting more than one animal.
